DESCRIPTION: We will learn how students learn better through structured teaching. We will study the "WE DO" AND "I DO" components of the framework for the gradual release of responsibility model (Fisher/Frey). Participants will find out how to facilitate the four components of this model in the elementary classroom in order to make effective use of class time. Tips and tools will cover how to"Never Work Harder Than Your students." Participants will have tools and resources to implement the gradual release model in their classroom. Holmes teachers will receive "Never Work Harder than Your Students" by Robyn R. Jackson. All other participants will need to purchase this book which is available at PLEASE NOTE: NO PARTIAL CREDIT WILL BE AWARDED FOR THIS WORKSHOP. THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY TWO HOUR FOLLOW-UP CLASS ON TUES., JAN 27, 2015 DURING THE 2014-15 SCHOOL YEAR. TARGET AUDIENCE: K-5 Teachers, AIS, Spec. Ed, and Holmes teacher aides. BUT Priority Enrollment will be given to Holmes Elementary Teachers
