Gradual Release of Responsibility Model

We will learn how students learn better through structured teaching. We will study the framework for the gradual release of responsibility model (Fisher/Frey). Participants will find out how to facilitate the four components of this model in the elementary classroom in order to make effective use of class time. Tips and tools will cover how to facilitate learning through focus lessons, guided instruction, collaborative learning and move students toward independent tasks. Participants will have tools and resources to implement the gradual release model in their classroom. Holmes teachers will receive "Better Learning" by Fisher/Frey. All other participants will need to purchase this book which is available at amazon.com. TARGET AUDIENCE: K-5 Teachers BUT Priority Enrollment will be given to Holmes Elementary Teachers
